Course Description:

It has been said that everyone has a novel inside them so why not endeavour to discover your inner ‘muse’ on this short course in Creative Writing?

 The course is suitable for those who have a desire to write and already have a good level of literacy as it will not be possible to do too much work on grammar in the time allowed.

 The course will cover such diverse topics as short stories, poetry and even the full length novel.  As well as lots of opportunities to write and share ideas with other students, there will be a chance to study many authors, famous and not so famous and learn valuable lessons from their work.

How often have you read something and thought "I can do better than that".   Well, now is your chance to prove it!

Themes covered include:

  • Ideas on where to find plotline
  • How to create believable characters
  • Building tension
  • Background
  • Dialogue
  • Tackling research
  • Poetry

    Throughout the course different writing styles, methods of capturing atmosphere and the art of writing will be covered.
