Chemistry is the science of materials. It is about gases, liquids and solids; how they interact and how they may be made. Think about fuels, plastics, pesticides and drugs; fireworks, and explosives how they are made using the skills and knowledge of chemists.   • 1 hour exam in January assesses this unit

Unit F322: Chains, Energy and Resources

  • Basic Concepts and Hydrocarbons
  • Alcohols, Halogenoalkanes and Analysis
  • Energy
  • Resources
  • 1 hour 45 minute exam in June
    assesses this unit

Unit F323: Practical Skills in Chemistry 1

  • Ongoing AS internal assessment of experimental skills

A2 Level
Unit F324: Rings, Polymers and Analysis

  • Rings, Acids and Amines
  • Polymers and Synthesis Analysis
  • 1 hour exam in January assesses this unit

Unit F325: Equilibria, Energetics and Elements

  • Rates, Equilibrium and pH
  • Energy
  • Transition Elements
  • 1 hour 45 minute exam in June assesses this unit

Unit F326: Practical Skills in Chemistry 2

  • Ongoing A2 internal assessment of experimental skills.
