IT User Skills (ECDL) - Cert (II) Award (III) · (AS/A2 equivalent)
ECDL Extra – Level II
This European-wide qualification is designed to enable students to gain and develop skills and knowledge in the practical uses of the most up to date Microsoft Office 2007/2010 software packages. The qualification offers students a range of software packages eg: Word Processing, Presentation Skills and Spreadsheets which are recognised and asked for by employers including the Police, NHS and many private firms who require competence in the use of Microsoft Office software skills. The knowledge and skills gained from these packages are perfectly suitable for progression to Higher Education where they are necessary to complete assignments and course work.
The course consists of the following units:
- Word Processing
- Presentation skills using PowerPoint
- Spreadsheets including charts
- Improving Productivity using IT (mandatory unit)
ECDL Advanced – Level III
This qualification is designed for students who have already completed a Level II qualification in ICT and who wish to extend their knowledge and skills. Each software package is explored to ‘A’ level standard and students are taught to demonstrate skills to a very high level of competence. These skills are recognised and sought after by both employers and Higher Education establishments.
The course includes the following units:
- Word Processing
- Presentation using PowerPoint
- Spreadsheets
