fesco logo The role of our Further Education Sports Co-ordinator (FESCo) is to increase sporting opportunities at Aquinas College








This is in three main areas;

  • Participation
  • Leadership & Volunteering
  • Competition
The College Sports Co-ordinator is helping support the development and delivery of the three hour community sport offer to all students within the Stockport School Sport Partnership.
By developing links with community sports groups and clubs and enhancing the relationship between local secondary and primary schools the Aquinas Students are encouraged to increase their participation and involvement. The Students are also offered opportunities within the college enrichment and sports programmes

Over the last three years there have been a great number sporting initiatives at Aquinas, some of which include the following:

  • A Student Leadership Academy has been developed
  • Links created with Cheshire FA
  • Leadership and Volunteering road show’s held at Aquinas
  • Primary school tag rugby at Aquinas
  • RFU coaching sessions for both boys and girls
  • Primary school cricket festivals
  • Students have volunteered and coached at primary and secondary schools
  • Futsal and football coaching sessions
  • Coaching sessions delivered by Manchester City FC
  • Softball tournament
  • Dodge ball tournament
  • Primary schools sports tournament held at Aquinas organised by sport students
  • Street dance sessions
  • Numerous leadership and volunteering opportunities
  • Coaching, Officiating and Assisting at Local School sport events
