Delegates to last Thursdays Post Aquinas Options Fair reported brisk business as one student after another gently “grilled” them for answers to a wide range of careers questions.

Aquinas celebrates the courage of two of our students this spring as Hannah Booth and Dan Cooke wage their own, very personal battles against cancer.

On our recent return visit to our partner school ISSIS Verdi in Valdobbiadene near Venice, 12 students were treated to typical Italian hospitality, lovely weather and glorious food.

As part of the Stockport Sports Trust initiative, we have been incredibly fortunate to have been assigned our very own Olympic athlete - archer Charlotte Burgess. On Monday the 6th of Feb students and staff celebrated St Thomas Aquinas' feast day with a range of events and activities.

Every year, the Aquinas community comes together to celebrate equality and diversity issues through a themed week. The purpose of the week is to raise awareness and highlight a range of equality and diversity issues to all members of the college community, both on a local and national level. Aquinas College strives for every week to be an equality and diversity week, recognising the needs and wants of individuals and doing what we can to make them achievable.

Following on from the success of last year’s show West Side Story, the Performing Arts dept decided on another 1960’s American cult classic with Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s fantastic show Little Shop of Horrors.

On Monday 28^th November 2011, 50 students and 5 staff left for Poland as part of their study of the AS History unit; Anti-Semitism, Hitler and the German People 1919-1945. This was our fourth consecutive trip to Krakow, the purpose of which is to give some meaning to the statistics of victims in the text books and encourage students to understand the true magnitude and scale of the tragedy that was the Holocaust. Over five days, we follow the story of the Jewish community of 67,000 that lived in Krakow before the Nazi invasion of Poland on 1^st September 1939.

The latest production from students in the Aquinas Drama department was the "Scottish Play".
