Post Aquinas Options evening
17 May 2012

Delegates to last Thursdays Post Aquinas Options Fair reported brisk business as one student after another gently “grilled” them for answers to a wide range of careers questions.

Over forty universities, colleges and apprenticeship providers, together with student finance advisers, some from as far away as Lincoln, Hull and Newcastle gave students the lowdown on a vast array of opportunities for full time study and work based learning. Some of the world’s leading universities from the great cities of the UK were present such as Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester alongside specialist but equally prestigious “niche players” like Manchester College of Law and world famous media education centres like Futureworks and The School of Sound Recording.

Apprenticeships were equally well represented with engineering, sports, catering, child care and electrical professions doing a brisk business in an especially dedicated “apprentice zone”.

It wasn’t just students who kept delegates busy though as hundreds of parents helped themselves to information and advice on the way to their own briefing in the sports hall that  same evening.

“Your students are really well informed and know exactly the right kind questions to ask”, commented one breathless delegate before disappearing into yet another box of prospectuses.
