St. Bernadette's Learning Centre was established in May 2002. Using funds from the European Regional Development Fund, Stockport's Single Regeneration Budget, and monies from Aquinas College and Liverpool Hope University College, we transformed the inside of St. Bernadette's Church into a delightfully unique and pleasant Learning Centre.
The idea was to provide somewhere pleasant to learn, within easy walking distance of anywhere in Brinnington, with full access to first class ICT facilities. We are now well established and well used by Brinnington residents, but also welcome people from all surrounding areas.
The Centre is open on Monday and Tuesday. Please refer to each course to find times and days each particular course is offered as some are 'taught' classes only.

Literacy Workshop (nationally recognised qualifications from Entry to Level 1)
'Get on - and get help' - make that first step back into learning.
Monday - 9.30 pm to 1.00 pm
Come and join our small group workshops and get help with your writing, reading or spelling and improve your confidence along the way. You will spend time learning together as a group as well as time working on individual study. As the groups are small, your tutor is able to give you that extra help and support you may need.
English Language GCSE
Monday 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm or
Tuesday 9.30 am to 12.00 noon
A small taught class that will prepare you for English Language GCSE. Enrolment for this will be in September 2010 and you can take either 1 or 2 years to complete, dependent on your own time and needs. This class will be in an informal setting, with lots of help and support.
