“We affirm and value each member of our community, recognising the dignity and unique nature of each individual. In this way the presence of Christ is celebrated. We share in each other’s strengths, support each other in our weaknesses, and strive for the highest standards of achievement in all we do. “ Statement of Purpose, Values and Vision
Aquinas has built up a reputation of looking after its students well - creating a caring environment which is conducive to success. Most students flourish in their two years at Aquinas, achieving good academic results and also the knowledge and personal skills to prepare them for a successful future. Our aim is to educate young people in the widest possible sense so that they can lead happy, successful, fulfilled, and healthy lives.
In order to continually improve the provision we offer, Aquinas staff, students and governors are working towards achieving the Stockport Healthy College Standard. This has been developed by a number of local and national agencies and can potentially offer a wide range of benefits to students, staff and the community.
We want everyone to be aware of the concept of Aquinas as a Healthy College, and hope that many people will get involved in community life both in and out of college.
We hope that we can make the college a clean, safe and interesting place to be; where the health of staff and students is of prime importance. We want to promote healthy eating; to help everyone develop a healthy lifestyle giving them access to recreational activities and sports. We also hope to provide lots of information on health related issues and access to medical advice .
A task group made up of staff and students are working on these areas to bring about improvements to benefit the whole college community. We want to work with, and be guided by YOU - So if you would like to get involved and help to steer the college in a healthy direction let us know!
