AS/A2 AQA

This course aims to broaden your studies by helping you to understand various important issues associated with living in the modern world.

Course Outline
4 Units - 2 for AS level and 2 for A2 level

AS Level

• Unit 1 - The Cultural Domain
• Unit 2 - Science and Society

A2 Level

• Unit 3 - Cultural and Society
• Unit 4 - Science and Society

Candidates are entered for General Studies in the Upper Sixth. Students will have specialist input from General Studies Tutors and have one lesson per week.

Preferred Entry Requirements
Candidates will be entered for General Studies at an appropriate level, either AS alone or the full A level.  General Studies complements many other courses at A level and will provide you with valuable UCAS points.  It is specifically aimed at broadening your knowledge of the modern world and it would help if you took an active interest in world events through reading a broadsheet or listening to the news.*
