Level 2 Certificate in Financial Education

At Aquinas, we recommend that you study this subject alongside the Level 2 Business Cambridge TEC.

Students will study the impact of finance on the economy and you will be encouraged consider how this can affect business and the individual. Through this it develops knowledge and a valuable range of applied and transferable skills and provides a foundation for further study in business and finance-related subjects.

  • Course Outline
    • Unit 1: Finance, the Individual & Society (FIS)

      Students will understand the role of the citizen in the UK, the values held by citizens, and the impact they have on personal finance. Assessed through online multiple choice exam.

      Unit 2: Financial planning and personal financial budgets.

      The unit will also provide an understanding of the impact on both the individual and society of spending and borrowing. Assessed through online multiple choice exam.

      Unit 3: Financial Capability, Work and Enterprise.

      This unit is assessed by a pre-release case study requiring written responses to five associated questions. This component of the examination is to be completed in 1 hour.

  • Career Opportunities and Further Study
    • Upon completion of level 2 CeFE students will be in a good position to study the ifs Level 3 Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) and then the ifs Level 3 Diploma in Financial Studies (DipFS).

  • Trips and Events
    • We organise guest speakers and visits, where possible to financial firms. This way students have the opportunity to find out about the many careers available within the industry as well as the many apprenticeships and graduate schemes that are on offer. We are also hoping to plan a trip to London to visit the Bank of England.
