ASPire is a new programme based on the government’s ‘catch up’ initiative. The programme gives 113 students studying GCSE English and/or Maths the opportunity to develop and apply a range of academic skills, supporting them in achieving their full potential following the disruption to learning caused by lockdown. The programme also supports students in small groups with their literacy and numeracy and in becoming successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. Through participation in ASPire students will gain valuable exposure to a number of competencies that will support them in their current studies and develop their employability and life skills.
