Applied Business students visit Chester Zoo

Applied Business took a class trip to Chester Zoo where we received a bespoke presentation on how the zoo functions as a business. We will now use the zoo as our case study for the Unit 2 Business Dynamics coursework. The talk particularly looked at the zoo’s aims and vision, ownership, stakeholder groups, recruitment and the zoo’s organisational structure. Seeing the zoo first hand and attending the talk will enable students to apply the theory discussed in class to Chester Zoo, and add value to their analysis an evaluation, enabling them to access the higher grades.

The students not only find the zoo an interesting business to research, but also an enjoyable day out. Some students got really involved in the full zoo experience and had their faces painted!
