Black History Month speaker at Aquinas
Deanne Heron came to Aquinas last month to talk to students about Black history in Britain. Deanne outlined the origins of Black History Month and the importance of recognising how unique each and every one of us is.
Deanne is the author of the Pardner Money Stories that take a whimsical look at life within an extended Black Jamaican family in Britain. Subjects as diverse as funerals and family holidays are featured and take a look at the interactions between various generations while highlighting the strong bonds of love and respect that bind them together.
