India Trip

We have just returned from another amazing trip to India.  The group consisted of 38 students and 5 staff. We continue to support Prem Dan in Mumbai, a charity founded and run by the Religious of Jesus and Mary.  We are now their main contributor with over 200 children sponsored through Aquinas College Our students planned workshops to carry out with the children in kindergarten classes at Prem Dan’s Garden School, up to 200 children were involved in the art crafts and sports workshops we conducted.  We took 17 trunks full of educational materials which we used during the workshops, the remainder of the materials were left for the schools to use throughout the year.

 

In the final few days we got an overnight sleeper train to Jaipur where the students visited historic sights of interest including Amber Fort.  They also visited an elephant village where they were able to take an elephant ride and feed the elephants.

 

The students were a credit to the college in all aspects of the trip and have undoubtedly had a life changing experience.
