Washington DC Visit

Students in Washington DC

A group of Politics, Law, and History students went on a visit to Washington DC in the week before half term to supplement their understanding of US government and politics. Highlights of this trip were a visit to the BBC HQ in Washington to speak with BBC North America Editor Jon Sopel, and a visit to the New York Times’ Washington Bureau to meet with a selection of their journalists and with their Media/Communications lead Ari Bevacqua. The trip took in the major institutions of the federal government including the US Capitol building for a guided tour and also to see proceedings in the Senate. They also took a tour of the US Supreme Court. Overall it was a packed study tour of the US capital and one that will have created lifelong memories for them all.
