Students taking part in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award recently completed their Practice Expedition in the stunning Lake District, following on from their training walk earlier this year in January.
The expedition challenged students to navigate independently, carry full expedition equipment, camp overnight and work together as a team across demanding routes and changing conditions. Throughout the trip, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and growing confidence while developing valuable outdoor and problem-solving skills.
Set against the backdrop of the Lake District’s incredible scenery, the expedition provided an important opportunity for students to prepare for their final assessed expedition while also building independence and self-sufficiency.
Staff praised the positivity, determination and support shown by the group throughout the experience, describing the trip as a fantastic success and another important milestone in the students’ D of E journey.
A huge well done to everyone involved for representing Aquinas so brilliantly throughout the expedition.
