Principal Danny Pearson said:

We are thrilled with the overall results this year and so pleased that the hard work of students and dedication of staff has been rewarded with an outstanding set of outcomes.  We realise that the legacy of Covid has impacted this cohort and are really pleased that the students have done so well.

The commitment, determination and resilience that students have displayed together with the tremendous effort of the staff over the last two years has been justly rewarded.  I know how tough it has been, so I hope everyone takes great pride in these results.

Initial analysis shows a pass rate of 99% for A Levels and BTecs and results which are much stronger than in 2019 (the standard that these exams are being compared to).  The high grades in A levels (A*- B) is 8% above where it was in 2019 at 58% and this shows incredible progress after such a difficult period.  The vocational courses are looking equally as good and every bit as strong as the A levels bearing in mind the recent changes.

We have been surrounded by happy confident students this morning who are thrilled with their results.  Currently 81% students have secured a University place, and together with those following other routes, they can start to look forward to their next exciting steps in life.

The commitment and care that staff show our students has remained outstanding over the past few challenging years and I have no doubt that these results reflect this approach.  Congratulations and well done to all the Aquinas students of 2023.
