As part of the Jubilee Year celebrations our students had the opportunity to visit the College chapel to see a book of 1st class and 2nd class relics which we were lucky to borrow from neighbouring Xaverian College.
Library
The Lower sixth A level Drama and Theatre studies went to the Bolton Octagon for a morning showing of Animal Farm. The play tells the story of the downtrodden animals of Manor Farm overthrowing their master and taking over. They imagine it is the beginning of a life of freedom and equality for all.
Media Trip to UCLAN
On Wednesday 19th June the media department took a group of students to visit the excellent facilities at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN)’s Media Factory. The students were given a tour of the facilities including a state of the art fully functioning TV studio.
Aquinas Drama students were out at the Theatre again on 4th December watching the Musical “Spend Spend Spend”, at The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.

Lower 6th Geologists had a field trip to our new build site at Aquinas College. Firstly, we visited the site office where Mick explained the groundworks to our students. We learned where, why and how the piling has been constructed. Mick told us about ensuring that the building was strong enough to withstand local wind conditions and how the engineers had overcome the unexpected issue of methane in the ground by installing vents.
