Media and Music students from Aquinas College took part in an inspiring Creative Careers Week event today at Stockroom, Stockport’s impressive new hub for all things creative. The day was organised by The Pledge and brought together professionals from across the fashion, music, and digital content sectors.
Students took part in industry-led workshops, gaining first-hand insight into real career pathways and the skills needed to progress into creative industries. Activities included:
- Short-form content creation workshops where students worked to real-world briefs, producing quick-turnaround videos themed around food, fashion, and Stockroom itself.
- Direct conversations with industry professionals, giving students the chance to ask questions, build confidence, and better understand routes into creative employment.
- A hands-on fashion workshop, where students developed concept ideas and presented them back to professionals, with one of our student groups winning the competition for their innovative ideas.
Across the morning, students strengthened their technical skills, experimented with new creative approaches, and received professional feedback on the content they produced.
