Psychology students had a guest speaker this week. Educational psychologist Catherine Eaton engaged students in a talk and workshop where students were asked to analyse and draw conclusions based on a typical case study an educational psychologist would encounter in their real practice.
Students had to use their knowledge of psychological theories in drawing upon a hypothesis to explain a child’s behaviour in a school environment. Students were trained on the consultation process assessments and action plans. This was a great career skills workshop that introduced students to applied psychology and a day in the life of an educational psychologist.
