Aquinas College is proud to be featured in this month’s Stockport Post, celebrating the appointment of our new Principal, Jo Dommett.
A former student of Aquinas, Jo shared how delighted she is to return to the college where her own journey in education began. “I had a wonderful experience at Aquinas. Academically I thrived, and the teachers there set me the inspirational example which led me to enter education as a career,” she said. “It’s a privilege to return to my roots and give something back.”
Jo succeeds Danny Pearson, who retired after 33 years of dedicated service to the college. Vice Principal Andy Bailey, also an Aquinas alumnus, noted the unique sense of community this reflects: “We’re unique in having both the Principal and Vice Principal as former students. It says something about the college spirit and sense of belonging that so many of us choose to return.”
The article also highlights Aquinas’ record-breaking results, with 85% of students progressing to their first-choice university and a doubling of prestigious degree apprenticeship offers. The recently opened Romero Building has expanded the college’s capacity to continue providing an outstanding learning environment.
With applications now open for 2026 entry, the Stockport Post feature shines a light on Aquinas’ ongoing success, its strong mission and values, and the enduring impact it continues to have on the community.
Applications for 2026 entry close on 30 November 2025.
