Students at Aquinas College are celebrating an excellent set of results, continuing the college’s longstanding record of success.
College principal, Jo Dommett, said ‘following on from our best ever results last year, it’s fantastic to see the class of 2026 do even better. The number of students securing the very highest grades is particularly impressive. We’re also delighted with the results in STEM subjects: last year we were the highest performing college in the north west for STEM, and this year’s results have surpassed them. In every way, these students have outperformed all our expectations and we are thrilled that their hard work – and the work of our fantastic staff in teaching and supporting them – has come to fruition.’

30% A*/A grades awarded at A Level
63% A*-B at A Level
99% Pass rate at A Level
77% Distinction/Distinction* awarded in Vocational Courses
99.8% pass rate in Vocational courses
Vice Principal Andy Bailey added, ‘even more importantly, our students are going onto the destinations of their choice. Our medics programme is exceptionally strong with 80% of our medics and vets securing their offers. We’ve also had the highest ever percentage of our students securing their first choice place at university. An increasing number of students have also secured degree apprenticeships with some incredibly prestigious employers. We’re really proud that our students not only have the grades they need for success but also the qualities and interpersonal skills that employers are looking for. National data also means that we know that Aquinas students who go on to university outperform their peers in securing degrees at the highest classification.The class of 2026 have been an absolute pleasure to teach and we know they are set up for every success in their lives after Aquinas.’
