Adam Swayne, Deputy Head of School of Keyboard Studies at the Royal Northern College of Music visited college on Thursday 15th January. A group of music students performed and received excellent detailed coaching and guidance on how to improve their performance. This is particularly timely for upper sixth students who will have their A Level recital exams in March.
Adam was encouraging, enthusiastic and really helped the students consider how they played and shaped their pieces. This was the first masterclass experience for most of the music students. It was interesting for them to watch the process and think about how this advice could be applied to their own performance.
The students performed to a very high level and represented the college excellently.
