Physics students from Aquinas College have started the year with an exceptional educational visit to CERN, the world-renowned European laboratory for particle physics, based in Geneva.
The trip, which took place last week, gave students a unique opportunity to explore the home of groundbreaking scientific research, including work connected to the Large Hadron Collider. Students learned about how international teams of scientists collaborate to investigate fundamental questions about the universe, matter, and energy.
Throughout the visit, students engaged with complex scientific concepts beyond the classroom, seeing how theory is applied in real research environments. The experience helped bring curriculum topics to life, while also highlighting future pathways into physics, engineering, and scientific research careers.
The visit marks a strong start to the academic year and reflects Aquinas College’s commitment to providing enriching, real-world learning opportunities that inspire curiosity and ambition.
