Students from Aquinas College travelled to Washington, D.C. as part of this year’s International Trips Week, enjoying a packed itinerary of politics, history and culture.
After a smooth flight over the Atlantic, among the highlights was a visit to the White House, the official residence of the President of the United States, as well as the United States Capitol, home to Congress. Students also visited the powerful and reflective setting of the Lincoln Memorial and stood beneath the towering Washington Monument, taking in the scale and symbolism of the nation’s capital.
Beyond the historic landmarks, students experienced American culture first-hand by attending a live college basketball game between the George Washington Revolutionaries and the league-leading Rhode Island Rams, a really exciting sporting event.
The visit provided students with valuable insight into global politics and international perspectives, complementing their studies while broadening their understanding of life beyond the UK.
