GCSE Japanese students entered The Japanese Language Championship for Young Learners UK (JaLaChamp) contest. They were asked to create an original video using Japanese. Their entry was short listed, and they were invited to Japan House in Kensington, London on May 10th.
The group only began learning Japanese in September, with a deadline in early March. Using their relatively limited Japanese skills, the students had to creatively craft a fun story within the theme.
We were ecstatic at coming second in our category despite having lots of entries. We received a trophy as certificates as well as many prizes which had been donated by the various Japanese companies who had sponsored the event.
