In February, the Sport Department successfully delivered its inaugural ski trip, taking 25 students from Aquinas College to Alpe d’Huez. The visit provided students with the opportunity to develop their skiing ability in a world-class alpine environment while representing the college abroad. All participants made clear progress in their skiing, with many advancing beyond their initial expectations through consistent effort and perseverance.
With snow levels that hadn’t been seen for around 30 years there was plenty of soft landings for the beginners amongst us. In the evenings there were various activities including Josh’s famous quiz and the champ (and chump) of the day awards. In-between this we saw the night torch ski display, took part in the luge and got to explore the beautiful village of Alpe D’Huez.
Students behaved impeccably, supported one another both on and off the slopes, and fully embraced the experience. Their positive attitude, teamwork and maturity ensured the trip ran smoothly and was an outstanding success
