Music Technology students took part in a hands-on workshop at Spirit Studios where they learned essential studio skills, including how to tune, mic up, overdub, and record a full drum kit. They explored both classic 1960s techniques and modern recording methods, gaining valuable insight into the evolution of studio practices over time.
The practical skills and knowledge gained during the day are directly relevant to the coursework students are currently researching and preparing for. This experience has provided them with a strong foundation ahead of their own recording and production projects, which will begin this September.
It was an inspiring and enjoyable day that gave students a real taste of working in a professional studio environment.
